The Most Beautiful Campground You'll Visit
Gary's Family Campground is located in the Wild and Wonderful Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia nestled in Sideling Hill with the Cacapon Rivers on each side. We're only a two hour drive from Baltimore and Washington, DC.
Our campground is close to Colonial and Civil War Historical sites and minutes from Berkeley Springs, the "Nation's First Spa". On your travels. drive the historic WV-9 through the beautiful West Virginia mountains.
Our property features a serene escape to the natural beauty of West Virginia. The new West Virginia Hunting Reserve and Audubon Nature Preserve are located close by, so bring your RV, camper or tent and make us your home base for your adventures. We are pet friendly, and in addition to our campground, we also have a Cottage, Guest House, and two Cabins available for your stay.
Our Story
The Owner and General Manager of Gary's Family Campground (previously known as Cox Camping) is Gary Loman. His brother-in-Law, Vic Cox, was the founder of Cox Camping. Vic had a dream to develop a family-friendly paradise in the heart of western West Virginia where family, fun and nature reigned supreme. Gary has not only followed in Vic's footsteps, but he has taken the campground to a new level with modern amenities and a relaxed and family-friendly environment that appeals to nature lovers.
In addition to being a wooded paradise for getaway, our campground is excellent for weddings, family reunions, and other special events. Please contact us for more information.
We have 60 acres of wooded land for all that Great Cacapon has to offer, including hiking trails and mountain biking trails (intermediate), horseshoe pits, pool table, redneck golf, and many more outdoor and indoor games. Go fishing in our stocked pond (catch and release) and check out our Koi Pond. We also have a reading room and library for those who want to sit near the fire and read or work on a puzzle or two.
Campground Details
We are a full service campground with 35+ campsites for RV, tent, and cabin camping. Each site is equipped with both water and electric hookups as well as a picnic table and fire ring. We offer both 35 amp and 50 amp for our RV sites. In addition, on our "loop", we offer a fully plumbed outhouse for our guest's convenience.
For our tent campers, we feature flush toilets, hot showers, and a laundry room. Showers and laundry are available until 10 PM and are for overnight guests only.
We are a seasonal campground opening mid-April, weather permitting, and closing mid-November. Our dump station, showers, laundry room, flush toilets, and hot showers are always open.
Our main lodge includes a pool and game room, reading room for quiet activities, a camp office with antiques, beverages and TVs, and free Wifi. Note: Wifi is not available throughout the campground.
Also available: a 2-bedroom cottage, 2 small cabins, and a bunk house. Pets are welcome on the campground, but unfortunately not in our cottage and cabins. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times.
